Spoonfed New York Country, offers authentic, gourmet southern dishes prepared by Chef Randy. Customers who dined with us at our previous flagship restaurant, enjoyed our great flavors of the south. Strangers, became friends, as we all enjoyed fellowship, through food, laughter and sharing. While we are getting our ducks in a row to relocate and reopen in late 2023, we will be reintroducing ourselves to our neighbors and community through personal drop offs and catering backstage. We will bring our South Carolina Low Country Southern-Style cuisine to your door, right in the heart of the Theater District and Hell's Kitchen. In other words, Eat Like You Mean It, Honey!
Helmed by Randy Strickland Witherspoon, former caterer for the cast of Hamilton and a number of other Broadway productions, this Hell’s Kitchen newcomer is the ideal go-to for theatergoers looking to grab a bite before a show. Southern-style staples are the stars here—mouthwatering candied pork belly with Brussels sprouts, sweet potato hush puppies, and cheesy buttermilk biscuits. We recommend the blackened red snapper and Cacky Lacky barbecued ribs or, if you’re willing to splurge, go for the smoky, porcini-rubbed prime rib.

What a cool place rich with Broadway history.
We came here for lunch (shoutout to online reservations) and had the place to ourselves except for a few delivery orders (this completely shocked me). I wish we would've come here for dinner, only because we were so fascinated by the rich Broadway ties here. On the walls you'll see a slideshow of stars that have visited and some of the interesting events they've had. At night they often have performers on the piano/singing, too!
Now, onto the food. This was really damn good southern soul food. My favorite item was the shrimp and grits. There's definitely a big difference between good shrimp and grits and bad shrimp and grits...and these were good. Creamy, buttery grits with succulent shrimp. The service here was excellent and we found it so thoughtful that the chef came out to check on us and ask for feedback (then bust into some low-key Broadway tunes behind the bar).
We'll absolutely come back when we're in NYC next!
I went to Spoonfed New York Country for a private holiday party. I didn't know a soul food place existed in midtown. Southern food at its best is an understatement for this restaurant. The food was really good. First they started with the passed hors d'oeuvres and I didnt let them pass by me with anything, everything looked and taste delicious.
For dinner it was a buffet menu and I was glad because it gave me the chance to sample everything. I had the creamy mac & cheese which was very good. Then I tried the chicken tenders and waffles which was crispy and full of favor. I went on to try the roast beef biscuit sandwich. By this time I was trying not to be greedy but the biscuit was so soft I wanted to go back for more but I didn't.
I'm definitely coming back to have dinner. The place had a nice vibe, the Chef/Owner walked around to make sure everyone was okay. This is an awesome place and I cant wait to visit again.
Ok first off the service is what sets this place apart from anyone else. They are sincerely the nicest there. They try and get to know you and have an actual conversation. Very endearing.
Secondly. The food is phenomenal. Once again no pics from me because I was too busy devouring it. I recommend going with a friend and sharing dishes.
Beyond that the drinks were great as well. The bartender even took the opportunity to ask me if he could just make me something off menu. It was delicious.
I would easily return anytime.
We miss seeing your faces and grabbing a seat and chatting. But for now we will prepare and deliver as we still cook with love.
